Maternity Sportswear
Maternity Activewear for Actually Staying Active
Most people keep moving through pregnancy, and most regular activewear stops cooperating around week 16. The waistband rolls, the tank rides up over the bump, and a normal sports bra stops fitting weeks before anything else does. This collection is 18 pieces of maternity activewear and sportswear built for that, in sizes XS through 3XL: full length and three-quarter workout leggings, gym tanks, bike shorts, a workout jacket and lightweight sports bras.
The range covers walking, prenatal yoga, the gym and the increasingly common fourth option of moving around a lot without calling it exercise. Colors stay simple, black, khaki, olive, purple and grey, and several pieces double as everyday wear, which is the point when you only want to own one wardrobe.
What Changes About Exercising While Pregnant?
Three things, and they all affect what you should wear. Your core temperature runs higher, so breathability matters more than it did; your center of gravity shifts, so a legging that stays put is worth more than one that looks good standing still; and the bump needs support without compression, which is exactly what a normal high waisted legging does not offer.
The practical answer is an over the bump panel that is wide and soft rather than tight, a top long enough at the front to stay down when you reach, and a bra with no underwire and enough give for changing size. Everything here is cut on that basis, which is why the leggings do not roll and the tanks do not ride.
What to Wear for What
- Walking and everyday movement: full length active leggings in black or khaki with a maternity cotton tee. This is the combination most moms wear four days a week.
- Prenatal yoga and pilates: a three-quarter workout legging in black or olive plus a gym tank. Shorter lengths stop the fabric bunching at the ankle in floor work.
- Gym and cardio: the full length sports legging with a maternity gym tank and the active workout jacket for warm-up and cool-down. The jacket has nursing access, so it carries past the birth.
- Hot weather and swimming pool trips: bamboo bike shorts. They breathe, they stop chafing, and they go under a dress on non-gym days.
- Sleep and low support days: the Lilou lightweight bralettes in black or grey. No underwire, enough support to sleep in, and they work through the size changes.
Sizing and Fabric
Order your usual pre-pregnancy size. These are cut with the bump allowed for, so sizing up mostly leaves the leg and shoulder loose without adding room at the belly. Sizes run XS to 3XL with measurements on each product page.
On fabric, bamboo and cotton blends breathe better and feel cooler against skin that has become more reactive, which matters more in pregnancy than the technical synthetics you might normally reach for. Free shipping applies on orders over $100.

Maternity Activewear FAQs
Do I really need maternity workout clothes?
By the second trimester, mostly yes for bottoms and bras, and less urgently for tops. A regular legging waistband either rolls down under the bump or compresses it, and neither is comfortable for 45 minutes of movement. Tops last longer, but they start riding up at the front around the same time.
What size maternity activewear should I order?
Your usual pre-pregnancy size. The panel is built to stretch through the whole pregnancy, so sizing up leaves the leg and seat baggy. Sizes run XS to 3XL, and the measurement chart on each product page is worth checking if you are between sizes.
Are the sports bras suitable for pregnancy?
The Lilou bralettes are lightweight, wire free and cut with enough give for the size changes that happen through pregnancy and after. They are best for yoga, walking and sleep rather than high impact running, and they work as nursing bras afterwards.
Can I wear these after the baby?
Yes, and most of the range is designed to. Fold the panel down and the leggings become high waisted; the workout jacket and bralettes have nursing access; and the bike shorts and tees carry straight through with no change at all.
